Responsibility
Standards applied at every stage of production. From feed manufacturing to the delivery of finished products, we comply with European regulations.

The journey of Fermador chickens begins at our own Compound Feed Factory. Every year, we purchase grains (wheat, corn) from local producers, which we combine with oilseeds (soy, sunflower) and vitamin and mineral supplements to create carefully studied recipes that guarantee the quality and exceptional taste specific to Fermador products.
Every year, we produce over 45 million kg of feed, which is used exclusively in our own breeding farms. The feed is manufactured and transported daily to all farms with our own specialized vehicles to ensure the feed arrives exactly as we want it.
An important aspect of our Compound Feed Factory’s activity is the physical and chemical verification of all inputs and outputs. Therefore, within the Compound Feed Factory, we have established our own analysis laboratory equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. Here, we take samples from every grain truck and every batch of feed and check the nutritional composition and physico-chemical parameters to ensure they meet the standards we desire.
We strongly believe in the saying “you are what you eat,” and we consider that this should be strictly applied to Fermador chickens as well. That’s why we choose only high-quality ingredients and impose very strict rules regarding the quality indicators of raw materials and the feed produced. Performance and attention to detail are important values for us.
That is why, within our Compound Feed Factory, we have implemented the following international standards and are audited annually by external companies:
– ISO 9001:2015 for the quality management system
– ISO 22000:2019 for the food safety management system.
At every stage of the production chain, we ensure that all bird welfare and food safety conditions are met.
We ensure that the equipment operates properly, each having an annual maintenance plan, and we do not compromise when major intervention or replacement is needed to maintain production standards.
Additionally, we have strict and well-established plans for sampling and analyzing microbiological and physico-chemical samples in the hatchery, farms, and slaughterhouse, which are sent to accredited external laboratories. This way, we ensure there are no external contaminants or any dangers for the end consumer.
Internal regulations and procedures are periodically reviewed through staff training and evaluations, which guarantees compliance with hygiene and food handling standards, as well as maintaining the cold chain.
Each product batch is identifiable, and through the implemented accredited management systems, we pride ourselves on very good traceability capabilities for all our products.

All activities carried out by Fermador are subject to regulations and hold all necessary authorizations, with regular inspections conducted by authorities.
In our desire to become better, we have committed to performing at every stage of production we undertake. Therefore, we have set the bar high and aim to be among the leading companies in terms of best practices and responsible ways of conducting our activities.
Fermador currently holds several certifications that attest to adherence to high-quality standards, confirmed by annual internal and external audits with authorized companies, where we achieve very high scores.
Moreover, Fermador staff frequently participate in training courses on food safety, occupational safety and security, and many other specialties.
Currently, we pride ourselves on the following certifications and quality standards:
1. Compound Feed Factory
– ISO 9001:2015 – Quality management system for compound feed manufacturing
– ISO 22000:2019 – Food safety management system for compound feed manufacturing
2. Breeding Farm
– IKB KIP v13 certification for rearing
– IKB KIP v14 certification for breeding
3. Hatchery
– IKB KIP v10 certification for day-old chick production
4. Slaughterhouse

– ISO 9001:2015 – Quality management system for activities conducted
– ISO 22000:2019 – Food safety management system for activities conducted
– Halal product certification

We continuously invest in new, better, more efficient technologies and equipment with reduced resource consumption (water, energy, natural gas). We are aware and value the fact that natural resources are limited and make constant efforts to be as sustainable as possible and to reduce our impact on the environment. We ensure that equipment maintenance programs are followed and apply recommended techniques and technologies to reduce resource consumption.

Annually, we generate, recycle and recover over 15,000 tonnes of waste, most of which being bedding from broiler farms, which is used as natural fertilizer on fields of farmers near our own farms. This is a very good natural source of nutrients for the soil and plants, and due to the very short distances from the farms, the impact is minimal.

In the poultry slaughterhouse, there is a wastewater treatment plant that was renovated and modernized in 2023. The plant treats and cleans over 90,000 cubic meters of water annually, with its efficiency constantly monitored through physico-chemical and microbiological analyses to ensure compliance with indicators.

To optimize energy consumption, we have installed photovoltaic panel systems in poultry breeding farms, which provide between 45%-85% of each farm’s energy needs. The total installed power is 1.2 MW, and we plan to install new systems with a total power of 1.7 MW.

Our motto, “Fermador cherishes the Family”, is the foundation on which we have built our values, team spirit, and attitude towards colleagues, clients, suppliers, and the community.
For us, Family is not just represented by grandparents, parents, or children. Our Family also includes the colleagues we see daily and the local communities where we operate.
Therefore, we consider it absolutely essential to contribute and give back to the community, as it is our intrinsic duty to contribute in any way we can.
We are concerned with social causes and educational initiatives, as well as sports, cultural, or performance-promoting activities in a particular field.
We organize visits for curious students and pupils or from specialized schools who wish to pursue a career in agriculture or the food industry. Additionally, in extreme cases and emergencies (natural disasters, social events), we contribute with food products for affected families and communities.
Fermador operates over an extensive area in the Moldova region, and we strive to prioritize hiring people from local communities where our work points are located. This way, we contribute to the economic development of those areas and our cohesion with the local community.
